Biodiversity conservation and monitoring in protected areas

We have initiated an exciting new project: Biodiversity and monitoring of biodiversit of natural protected areas (ENPE) in Catalonia. This project is promoted by the Parcs service of the General direction of the natural environment of the Catalan government. The main objective of the project is the definition of management actions and conservation priorities for 12 protected nature sites in Catalonia. The project aims at clearly identify the targer biodiversity elements of interest, adequate monitoring strategies and an appropiate action plan for each of the nature sites under examination.

Conservació de la biodiversitat i seguiment en àrees protegides

S’ha iniciat la redacció dels Plans de Conservació i Seguiment de la Biodiversitat dels Espais Naturals de Protecció Especial (ENPE) de Catalunya. Aquest projecte, promogut pel Servei de Parcs de la Direcció General de Medi Natural i el seu objectiu es definir les accions i prioritats de conservació de 12 ENPE de Catalunya, identificant clarament quin són els elements de biodiversitat prioritaris en cada espai, els indicadors del seu estat de conservació i el pla d’actuacions de conservació i gestió associat per garantir-ne la seva conservació i recuperació. Aquests plans han de ser el full de ruta en relació a la conservació de la biodiversitat per als propers 6 anys de tots els Parcs Naturals de Catalunya.
